What You Can Do with Splat2Mesh
Convert 3DGS to Mesh
Generate polygon meshes from 3D Gaussian Splatting data.
Export to Standard 3D Formats
Export to widely used 3D formats such as OBJ and GLB.
Ready for 3D Printing
Turn 3DGS data into meshes that can be used for 3D printing and further 3D editing.
What is 3DGS?
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is a technique that represents real-world objects and environments using a large number of Gaussian primitives.
It can create highly realistic 3D representations from photographs, but unlike conventional 3D models, 3DGS data does not consist of polygonal surfaces.
3DGS vs. Mesh
| Feature | 3DGS | Mesh |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Gaussian Primitives | Vertices, Edges & Faces |
| Visual Quality | ◎ Highly Realistic | ○ |
| Editing | △ Limited | ◎ Easy to Edit |
| 3D Printing | × | ◎ |
| Standard 3D Software | △ | ◎ |
How It Works
Generate a mesh in three simple steps.
Import 3DGS Data
Load supported 3DGS data (PLY) into the application.
Configure and Generate the Mesh
Adjust mesh generation parameters to suit your application, then convert.
Export the Mesh
Save the generated mesh in a supported format (OBJ / GLB).
Conversion Example

Use Cases
3D Printing
Turn scanned objects into physical 3D prints.
3D Editing
Edit converted meshes in Blender and other 3D applications.
Large-scale Scanning
Convert large-scale 3DGS scans of buildings and outdoor environments into meshes.
Game / Simulation
